I remember my parents’ gift when I was 6 or 7 years old – a mini-set of aluminium pots and a frying pan. You could not imagine a more excited kid doing his first fries! I guess it is also one of the reasons after all these years my love for chips and fries remains strong.
Drinking is a more delicate topic, but my first drink was actually a beer. I used to drink a lot of it when I was at my first Uni (many tech geeks did and still do, I reckon). Yet at 23 years of age I looked at the mirror and said that beer was enough and it is time to lose that beer belly altogether. Wine came along shortly after, mostly inspired by a travel to France and increased imports from all over the world. It is still very exciting to try something new, isn’t it? Novelty factor rocks.
