Welcome › Forums › What works and what doesn’t? › Paleo diet: a fad or a lifestyle change?
Hi all,
I have been reading a book on Paleo diet and was wondering whether anyone tried it?
‘Paleo Primer’ is quite an exciting read with loads of recipes at the back. I have tried chestnut chocolate cake and it was amazing (no added refined sugar or flour).
The diet is basically about reducing all processed foods including refined sugars, grains, legumes, pasta and bread. You are to just have organic meat or fish (quality protein), animal based fats are also good and some vegetables. Sounds not too bad.
One major idea there is that if we reduce the carbs intake to just less than 100-150 g a day, our body will start sourcing energy from fat and we will start losing weight. Sounds simple.
Has anyone tried it?
Is it another fad diet or is there something to take away?
Cheers,
Dimitri
